State Pictures

Day 2 of State was even more fun than the first day. Darian started out a bundle of nerves because she was playing with some big time players from Xavier, Hamilton, and Corona del Sol. She was the only one in her group that wasn't a senior! After a bit, she finally relaxed and enjoyed herself. She improved her score by 5 strokes, shooting an 81. She's used to scoring in the 70's so she was a little disappointed in her play, but I think she did awesome for being a freshman out there. It was really a lot of fun to watch her. I can't tell you how proud I was and had more than a couple of tearful moments thinking of my Dad, just missing him and being sad that he isn't able to see her playing on this level. He would be over the moon! Mountain Pointe ended up in 5th place, missing 4th by 3 strokes. Darian was in 22nd place (out of 90 golfers) after the first day and we know she moved up the second but aren't sure of the exact place. I can't wait to see her play again next year!

I love this shot Erin took.

Quick Note

Day 1 of State is over. Darian had a bit of a rough start, but finished strong. She shot an 86 (12 over par). Definitely not her best, but not too bad. I wistfully thought about the girls relaxing on the beach in Mexico but I'm so glad I stayed to watch my baby play. Mountain Pointe is in 4th place out of 18 teams. I'm not sure where D stands individually though. I'll post pictures and final results tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed!

Halloween Night

Darian and a couple of her best friends, Brooke and Cara, with their homemade Supergirl costumes.
Noah as a Recon Commando with his pumpkins.

Caleb, the ninja, with his pumpkin.

Luke, obsessed as ever, as a Lightning McQueen crew member. He loved carving his dinosaur pumpkin!

Caleb's "Falloween" Party

The kids wore their costumes and did a parade through the school getting treats from teachers along the way. You can't tell Caleb is loving every minute of it!

Activity time.

I stayed home with Luke since there was a sibling ban for the party. Erin went instead and I almost had a heart attack when I saw this little series of shots. Caleb wanted to show Erin how a real ninja would jump off the playset. I always wonder when, not if, Caleb will break a bone.

Noah's Fall Festival

Noah is a little too proud he beat a girl.
Noah loved his alien pumpkin he carved for the pumpkin walk.

Field Trip to Mother Nature's Farm

Caleb picking out a pumpking to decorate.

The whole class on the hayride!

Luke got to tag along. He wasn't so crazy about the hayride. He wanted off after only a minute or so.

Feeding the animals.

Luke loved feeding the goats.

Best friends!

Halloween Parties

Erin's parents.

Noah with his Great-Grandma Brand.

Our nephew, Tyler.

Caleb and his ninja buddy, Brody.

Where's Luke?

We have the kids' old cradle filled with stuffed animals. Caleb called me up one day to show me what he did to Luke. He looked so funny with just his little head poking out. It made me think of the scene in E.T.

She Made State!

Darian had Regionals this week. For the first time this season, I got to follow her around the course. Her first day score wasn't her best, but the second day she did awesome, shooting 76 (4 over par), helping secure her and her team a place at State. We finally got our new camera and were able to get some great action shots. We're so proud of her and can't wait to see how she does on Nov. 3rd and 4th!

Making Cupcakes

Darian had her wisdom teeth out this past week. She was pretty swollen and could only eat really soft food. She asked for some cupcakes and Luke was very happy to "help" me out.

Sticker Fun

A favorite game for Caleb is to try to get as many stickers as possible on Luke until he starts screaming at him and starts ripping them off. He got quite a few this time and Luke even agreed to pictures!
Caleb very proud of his work.

Spivey Ears

Caleb was learning the five senses in school and made these in class.

A Few More Birthday Pics
