My Baby is 3!

I have been SO busy and still haven't gone out and bought a new camera (BTW, thank you to those of you who have been helping me w/ advice on that!), so I had to break down and take Luke to a studio for his 3-year pictures. He is so shy and stubborn, he would not pose. He wouldn't put down his Lightning McQueen cars either, so they ended up in some of the pics. Erin even had to sit with him at one point to get him to stay still. At least we have a cute father-son shot. Luckily we got a few smiles and with some careful cropping some good pictures. I think he is so stinking cute, but I sure hope he grows into those ears!

Tell me how you really feel!

As all of you know, Noah is my outspoken and very stubborn child. All of his teachers have said since preschool, he's really smart... and then comes the "but". Anyhow, he is supposed to read at least two hours a week and keep a log of it. Getting him to do it is like pulling teeth! I usually send him into my room for quiet and he will, after MUCH persuading, do his reading. One day he apparently grabbed my camera as he went in and left me this little message. I am so keeping this one!

I Know, I Know

It's been a while since I have posted anything. I haven't been taking many pictures because we've been so busy with stuff that isn't very interesting! I'm doing research for a new camera right now because I have extreme camera-envy looking at all of the awesome pictures on my friends' blogs. So we'll be back soon, I promise!

Our New Pet

On our vacation, everyone we visited had dogs. The boys fell in love with each and every one of them. We feel like we aren't in the position right now to have a dog. We're busy enough! But we felt horrible that the kids didn't have a pet. We talked with them and came up with a compromise. A pet that lives in a cage and is relatively easy to care for. At first the kids wanted hamsters, but we found a guinea pig that had a sad little story and was up for adoption. The kids loved him at first sight. So, meet the new member of our family! His name is Gus. As Noah would tell you, his full name is Gus-Gus Chubbs Spivey.

Back To School

Where did summer go?! The kids started school today. Well, all of them except for Luke. I have one more year to keep him home and be all mine. We had to do the 1st day of school pictures just like every year. Darian seems to think that as she gets older they are no longer necessary. I'm so "embarrassing"!

This is the first year that Luke has recognized that he's the only one not going off to school. He didn't want to leave Caleb's classroom. Aren't they so cute together?

Puddles!

We spent all day Sunday in the car driving Darian up to Pinetop for soccer camp. It rained on us from Heber all the way home. After being on the road all day, Caleb and Luke couldn't wait to get out and run around. What's more fun than jumping in puddles?!
